Eligibility Requirements
 

The employees are considered the primary resource of any institution and the most important element for its success, so there should be focusing on staff development and rehabilitation in the right ways, and provide whatever increase the satisfaction of their work and their ability to give and innovation to support their career. Investment in human capital is an advantage for both the employee and the institution and it achieves the objectives.

King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency within the Distinguished Government Employee Award honors the distinguished employee with which he attributes the following qualities:

·          Having an exceptional personality and attitude

·          Having scientific qualifications and practical experience which match the nature of his work

·           Having a clear vision of what he wants to accomplish at the ministry / institution

·           Has initiative, creativity and innovation

·          Taking advantage of resources in the best manner

·          Exerts all efforts to provide the best service to customer

·          Seeking to enhance the reputation of the ministry/ institution and keeping it

·          Committed to behavior and ethics of Governmental work.

 

Exerts all efforts to achieve clear, specific and exceptional results for the institution, department or ministry in the area of client service (from various economic sectors to citizens) which in turn contributes to advancing the economic development process and achieves a better standard of living for the Jordanian citizen.
 

Categories of the Distinguished Employee Award
 

First category:The Distinguished Leading / Supervising Employee Award

Anyone nominated in this category must:

1.            Be working in leading or supervisory positions in the ministry/ institution regardless of their job type or title (assistant of the secretary general, institution or department general manager deputy, institution or department general manager assistant, department director, directorate director, division chief…etc).

2.           Have served in leading or supervisory position in the ministry / institution for at least two years or more.

3.      To head a minimum of two employees 

Second category: The Distinguished Administrative / Technical Employee Award


Anyone nominated in this category must:

1.      Be an employee functioning in technical administrative jobs or technological related jobs regardless of their job type or title (Engineering, legal, economical, financial, technological …).

2.      Have served in administrative or technical positions in the ministry / institution for at least two years or more.

 

Third category: The Distinguished Support Employee Award

Anyone nominated in this category must:

  1.          Be an employee working in a service, vocational or administrative support positions (secretary, operator, driver, …)
  2.       Have worked in the civil service or administrative support in the ministry / institution for at least two years or more 
     

General notes for the three categories
 

·          Any candidate that was nominated for any of the three categories , can retain his/her nomination in the case of changing the  job title editing or change taking into consideration that he/she remaining  at the same functional level and will be assessed based on the past two years performance..

·          Any candidate that was nominated for any of the three categories , can retain his/her nomination in case of transferring to another location that is related to the ministry / institution taking into consideration that he/she remaining at the same employment level and the evaluation will be assessed based on the past two years performance in his/her previous location .

·          It requires that the employee nominated for the Distinguished Government Employee Award should not have any form of penalties (notice, termination, … etc) during his service in the ministry / institution in the last two years.

Honors and Rewards
 

Winning the Award constitutes a high level of accomplishment for the government employee and a clear acknowledgement of distinguished performance and effective efficiency.

The employee who wins the Award receives a cash award and a certificate of appreciation signed by His Majesty King Abdullah II.
